This man above, Ajith Padath Abraham, was sentenced on July 2, 2004.
He was a professor at OSU (Tulsa, Oklahoma), in the Computer Science
Dept. He was arrested in late January 2004, and charged with 2 felony
counts. - Attempted Indecent Proposal
to a Child, in violation of 21 O.S. 1123, and Attempting
to Transport a Minor for Lewd and Indecent Purposes,
in violation of 21 O.S. 1087. - He may now be in Seoul, Korea.
The chats that he had with who he believed was a child went on from mid December 2003 to late January 2004. Approximately 5 weeks. He made 2 trips from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Norman, Oklahoma to meet with who he believed was a child. That's about a 3-4 hour round-trip, each time. The only reason he wasn't arrested the first time he showed up was because the Tulsa Cyber Crimes Unit was out of town at a conference, and we didn't want him to have the chance to get out of jail and destroy the evidence on his hard drives, before his property was confiscated. So the first time he showed up, detectives in unmarked cars and "plain clothes" took pictures of him and his vehicle, to prove that he did show up.
I continued to chat with him after that, and he made a second trip to Norman to meet with this child for sex, and this time he was arrested. Computers and other items were immediately confiscated from his home and from his office at OSU.
He waived his preliminary hearing. The evidence against him is over-whelming.
On July 2, 2004 he and his attorney met with the DA in charge of this case. Abraham made a $12,500.00 "donation" to the Mary Abbott House, and he was given a 3 year Deferred Sentence, and the charges were reduced to Attempted Outraging Public Decency, and Attempted Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. He was ordered to pay several fines, (court costs, victims compensation, administrative fees, etc.) and to get a psychiatric evaluation and follow up, and to follow the rules and conditions of his probation.
He's on probation for 3 years, and he unofficially agreed to leave the United States. We believe he did move to Seoul, Korea...Possibly to :
School of Computer Science and Engineering, Chung-Ang University,
221 Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu
Seoul 156-756, Korea

I want to thank the LEO's involved in this case. They're outstanding detectives, and incredible human beings, who are commited to getting people like Abraham off the streets and away from children.
