Ray is special in more ways than one. I busted him and testified at his preliminary hearing while volunteering for another site. The judge found sufficient evidence to hold him over for jury trial and Ray decided not to opt for a plea bargain.

After we started US CyberWatch, I traveled back to Michigan and testified at the jury trial. On May 27th 2004, Ray was found guilty of, "Use of computer/internet to communicate with another to attempt to commit criminal sexual conduct 3rd degree". This is a felony charge and 3rd degree states that the intended victim is a minor. Ray will be sentenced in two to three weeks.

I would like to send my most sincere thanks to the Port Huron police department, prosecutors office, and the prosecuting attorney that was involved with the case. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to this case.

* Update - Raymond Dooley was sentenced to one year in the St. Clair County Jail and five years probation. Terms of his probation will require he register as a sex offender, have no contact with children younger than 16 and have no contact with computers or the Internet.
