Maurita Renee Carruthers – 42 years old – Oklahoma

The woman in the photo above, Maurita Carruthers, was convicted in September 2004 for her part in a conspiracy that she planned with Walter Chester Strout, Jr, to pick up a 13 year old child and take that child back to their house for sex. When they showed up to get the child, they were both arrested.

She was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony; attempting to make an indecent proposal to a child; attempting to transport a minor for lewd or indecent purposes; and use of a computer to violate an Oklahoma statute.

She and her boyfriend talked with the 13 year old child (Nikki’s underage ID) from July 9, 2004 to July 17, 2004, and then they drove approximately 2 hours to pick up the child, and were arrested when they arrived.

In September 2004 Maurita Carruthers plead nolo contendre to 3 charges - conspiracy to commit a felony; attempting to make an indecent proposal to a child; attempting to transport a minor for lewd or indecent purposes.

She plead guilty to - Use of a computer to violate an Oklahoma statute. She was sentenced to 5 years supervised probation, she was ordered to pay over $2000 in fines, and she agreed to leave the state of Oklahoma.

We want to thank the detectives who worked on this case for all of their time, dedication, and commitment to having her (and many others like her) arrested and prosecuted for these attempted crimes against children.
